For Immediate Release - (Information Provided by Dusty Hughes) October 11, 2025 - Arcadia, IN The strength of the Hoosier Conference varies from sport to sport, as does the format of competition. Our conference is very competitive, with many state-qualifying runners heading the field. Cross country runners face all schools, large and small, in one race. This year, that race was hosted by Hamilton Heights. The boys’ race was dominated by the larger schools, but the bison boys represented BC well for the smaller schools. Carter Fox set an all time personal best time of 17:01 and earned All-Conference with a 12 place finish. This is the best finish a Benton Central boy runner has had since Akis Medrano’s time of 16:29 in 2014. Nearly all our boys dropped significant time and beat the predictions with a 5th place team score. Our second finisher for the boys was Jonah Fleming (24th place in 17:52), followed by Matthew McKinnis (35th place in 18:28), Sam Fleming (39th in 18:54), Grady Rudolph (44th in 19:12), Jude Johnson (51st in 19:42), and Louie Pyke (54th in (20:05). Next up, in the girls’ race, our Lady Bison did exceptionally well, with all time personal bests from all 5 of our girls. Both Loralei Rayman (7th place in 20:07) and Maddie Peterson (9th place in 20:23) earned All-Conference honors. Third for the Bison was Maggie Rayman, who received All-Conference Honorable Mention with her 19th place time of 21:39. Team scores were aided by CeCe Fisher (27th in 22:58) and Samiyah Rich (36th in 24:34). Our ladies placed 3rd as a team behind Hamilton Heights and West Lafayette. The course was fast and the weather was ideal, and BC took advantage of the opportunity to achieve personal and team goals.
