Information provided by Head Coach, Dusty Hughes The Benton Central Varsity Girls and Varsity Boys Cross Country teams traveled to the Tippecanoe Amphitheater for their inaugural race of the season, The Amp at The Champ Invitational. Both squads were able to score as a team, as well as, post several top 30 individual times. Top five for the boys’ team were 29th place finisher Carter Fox (18:24), Matthew McKinnis (19:39), Sam Fleming (20:05), Grady Rudolph (20:07), and Jude Johnson (20:45). The team placed 13th overall in a field of 216 runners. Top five for the girls’ team were Loralei Rayman with a 28th place finish (22:32), followed directly behind by a 29th place finish by Maddie Peterson (22:38), Maggie Rayman (25:07), Samiyah Rich (27:14), and Allie Wuethrich (31:39). The girls' team placed 10th overall in a field of 162 total runners. The varsity Cross Country Teams travel to the Monon Town Park to compete in the North White Invitational next Saturday, August 23. The Varsity Boys' race starts at 9 AM, followed by the Varsity Girls at 9:30, combined JV at 10, Middle School Boys at 10:45, and Middle School Girls at 11:15.
