For Immediate Release Oxford, IN There’s something special about early June in Oxford—the start of summer, the sound of clubs striking golf balls, and young athletes learning the game the right way. The Benton Summer Golf Camp is back, and it’s once again being led by former Bison Girls and Boys Varsity Coach Eric Wiley, whose passion for the sport continues to shape the next generation of golfers. Running June 1st–4th, the camp welcomes boys and girls from kindergarten through 8th grade, offering a fun, structured environment where beginners and developing players alike can grow their skills. With age-specific sessions, campers receive instruction tailored to their level—from the youngest beginners just getting comfortable with a club, to middle schoolers refining their technique. Throughout the week, Coach Wiley emphasizes the fundamentals that build strong golfers and even stronger competitors. Campers will learn proper grip, stance, and swing mechanics, while also developing touch around the greens through chipping and putting drills. Just as important, participants are introduced to course etiquette—an essential part of the game that reflects respect, discipline, and sportsmanship. The week wraps up with an exciting junior tournament on June 5th in Oxford, giving campers a chance to put their new skills into action in a real competitive setting. It’s a highlight experience that blends fun with a sense of accomplishment, as young golfers test themselves on the course. At just $45, the Benton Summer Golf Camp remains an incredible opportunity for families looking to get their children involved in golf or help them continue developing in the sport. More than just instruction, the camp offers a chance to build confidence, friendships, and a lifelong appreciation for the game. As Coach Wiley returns to lead this tradition, one thing is certain—Benton golf’s future is in good hands.
