The Benton Central Lady Bison turned in a strong all-around performance on Thursday, defeating Rensselaer Central 4-0 at home. Leading the way in the circle, Groves was outstanding, tossing a complete-game shutout and keeping the Bombers off the scoreboard all night. The Lady Bison wasted no time getting on the board, plating a run in the first inning when Minniear delivered an RBI single to give Benton Central an early advantage. Offensively, Linder provided a big boost in the middle of the lineup, going 2-for-3 with two RBIs to pace the Lady Bison attack. Rensselaer Central managed just a pair of hits on the night, with Crabtree and Moore each recording one. Hannon showed patience at the plate with two walks, and the Bombers drew five walks as a team while playing error-free defense. Benton Central will be right back in action as they travel to Rensselaer Central for a rematch on Friday, April 17th.
