The Benton Central Varsity Bison dropped a Hoosier Conference contest on Tuesday, falling 8-0 to Lafayette Central Catholic. Lafayette Central Catholic broke through in the second inning with a two-run home run and continued to add on with solo home runs in the third and fourth innings to build their lead. Parker Sexton took the loss on the mound for the Bison, turning in a solid effort over five innings. Sexton allowed six runs on five hits while striking out seven and issuing three walks. Offensively, Benton Central was able to generate hits throughout the lineup, with Nolan Winkler, Mason Schutter, Parker Sexton, Grant Weise, Kamron Rider, and Jordan Cox each recording one hit on the night. The Bison will look to respond quickly as they travel to Lafayette Central Catholic (Gordon Lemming Field) for a rematch on Wednesday evening for a 6 PM start.
